Requests to Our Suppliers

Asahi Intecc Group (hereinafter referred to as “we,” “our,” or “us”) have established “Asahi Intecc Group Procurement Policy” and conduct purchasing activities considering human rights and environment, etc. We would like our suppliers (hereinafter referred to as “you” or “your”) to understand this policy and conduct following items.

1. Enhancement of company value

Please understand our supplier evaluation methods and criteria, conduct business activities in accordance with the criteria, and continuously try to improve them.

2. Compliance with the laws and social norms in and outside the country

Please work on complying with the laws and social norms in and outside the country concerning the transactions. Especially, please pay attention to the following laws and regulations when performing business activities:

  • Intellectual property laws (patent law, trademark law, copyright law, unfair competition prevention law, etc.)
  • Applicable laws and regulations regarding advertising and presentations (Act against Unjustifiable Premiums and Misleading Presentations, etc.)
  • Applicable laws and regulations regarding anti-monopoly and ensuring fair trade (Act against Delay in Payment of Subcontract Proceeds, etc. to Subcontractors and antitrust laws, etc.)
  • Applicable laws and regulations on export and import control
  • Applicable laws and regulations regarding anti-bribery(criminal law, Unfair Competition Prevention Act, etc.)
  • Applicable laws regarding severing relations with anti-social forces
  • Similar applicable laws and regulations of above in and outside the country

3. Respect for human rights

We have established “Asahi Intecc Group Human Rights Policy” and address to respect for human rights in our business activities. We would like you to understand the policy, recognize the issues of following human rights as important issues, and work to respect human rights through your own business activities and supply chain:

  • Do not tolerate forced labor, child labor, and any form of modern slavery including human trafficking.
  • Prevent unfair discrimination or harassment based on race, gender, nationality, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, ethnicity, disability, among others.
  • Appropriately manage the working hours, holidays, days off, and wages of employees to the extent permitted by the laws and regulations of the countries and regions where it operates and strive to engage in constructive dialogue on working conditions with employees.
  • Prevent accidents, disasters, and injuries at work and provide a conducive work environment in which employees can work peacefully in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations of the countries and regions in which it operates.
  • Comply with the laws and treaties on environmentally regulated substances and hazardous substances to protect the lives and ensure safety of its product users, its employees, suppliers, and purchasers including physicians and patients. Furthermore, comply with the laws and guidelines to protect the rights of clinical trial participants.
  • For implementing above, based on the Japanese government “Guidelines on Respecting Human Rights in Responsible Supply Chains”, make maximum efforts to implement human rights due diligence initiative (implementation of human rights due diligence, correction/remedy for violation of human rights, education/awareness, stakeholder engagement, and disclosure of information) in your company and supply chain.

4. Prevention of corruption and fair and just trade

We always choose our business partners based on the fair competition. Therefore, we would like you to fulfill fair and just trade and business activities including items below:

  • Not, directly or indirectly, provide any form of monetary or any other tangible or intangible benefit (including any offer or promise of the same) to any government, local government, government-related organization, public international organization, public corporation, public hospital, government-designated inspection agency, or government-designated testing agency of any country (hereinafter referred to as "Public Officials, etc.") in order to obtain or retain any improper advantage.
  • Not offer, directly or indirectly, any form of monetary or any other tangible or intangible benefit (including any offer or promise of the same), to any person other than Public Officials, etc. for the purposes of obtaining or retaining business or to obtain or retain an advantageous position in the conduct of business, or inducing the commission of any illegal or dishonest act.

5. Quality and cost

The products/services supplied by you have a significant impact on our business. Therefore, please pay attention to the items below and provide products/services that fulfill our requirement for specification/quality, at reasonable prices and on-time delivery.

  • Supply us with products/services guaranteed to be safe and effective at reasonable prices.
  • Establish a system to appropriately manage delivery dates and to respond to flexible supply, and closely exchange information with us.
  • Previously inform us of changes that may affect the quality of products/services, such as changes in product/service specifications, manufacturing processes, procurement sources, etc., to minimize the impact on the products/services.
  • Strive to develop an appropriate business continuity plan (BCP) and prepare for continuity of supply and/or early resumption in the event of an emergency. In addition, if there is a risk of supply interruption, immediately inform us.

6. Consideration for Environment

We have established “Asahi Intecc Environmental Policy”, work on environmental conservation and protection and promote procurement activities considering environmental improvement. We would like you to understand the policy and make effort to promote following activities:

  • Promote resource and energy conservation
  • Work to reduce, sort , and recycle waste
  • Work to provide products that take into consideration environmental conservation and protection
  • Thoroughly manage chemical substances
  • Make efforts to utilize purchased products that are beneficial to environmental improvement
  • Work for carbon neutrality and climate change measures

7. Confirmation of implementation status

We may investigate/inquire about the implementation status of above by visit or in written form, etc. Please create and maintain records regarding the implementation plan and progress, so that you can submit them when necessary.

8. Supply chain

Please share above activities with your suppliers and strive to make it implemented at the whole supply chain.
